Sample
One of the important functions of sample in the garment industry is to finalize the cost. Costing of garment is done at the proto sample stage and it helps factory as well as buyer to decide the feasibility of the style well in advance in order to take a known decision.
During the product development process of a style, buyer ask for various samples from the factory. The purpose of each and every sample is different. It is important for factory merchandiser to understand the purpose of each and every sample. The terminology of the sample varies buyer to buyer but more or less the purpose of the sample remains same in almost all the cases.
The sampling department of factory makes samples on the basis of the specification and requirement by the buyer. The Merchandiser coordinates with the buyer and sends the buyer requirement to the sampling department. Factory merchandiser need to make sure that all the samples must be of good quality.
